BEST K-9 is owned and operated by Michael and Michelle Best. Michael Best is a 20+ year veteran K-9 officer and Master Trainer with the North American Police Work Dog Association as well as Trainer with the Missouri Police Canine Association. He currently works a Belgian Malinois, Max, and a Bloodhound, Belle, for the Jasper County Sheriff's Dept. Michael also teaches at state and national K-9 workshops throughout the United States. K-9 partner Max is certified nationally through North American Police Work Dog Association and locally through Missouri Police Canine Association in areas including:

K-9 Partner Belle is an exceptional trailing dog with numerous finds to her credit. Michael is also training a Belgian Malinois, K-9 Major, for explosives detection.

Michael has received numerous awards and certificates of honor for his dedication and work in training and handling K-9's, from organizations including:

North American Police Work Dog Association, Missouri Police Canine Association, Grand River Dam Authority, United States Police Canine Association Region 11, various law enforcement agencies, businesses, schools, churches and community groups as well as receiving a citation of honor from the Governor of the State of Oklahoma for going above and beyond the call of duty.

Michael and Michelle have had the privilege of putting on a K-9 demonstration for Congressman Roy Blunt and his agricultural tour in August of 2002.
